Elves to the rescue!
Cribs hang from the tree!
The Joyce Family harvested this beautiful tree for us, and every child has had a hand in decorating it! The junior half of school surrounded it with elves and angels! Seniors used maths shapes to make decorations.

STEM! Science in the Senior half of school

This time of year we love to use the Energy and Force strand unit of Light to create some spooky art!

Have a look at our pictures below.

We explored and investigated light!

We used our Gaeilge Mothùcháin puppets to help!
Some children cut holes to let the light but reflect off our mirrors and shine through the paper bags! Spooky!

We could be working special effects on a movie!

Jack Spinner…created by cleverly bouncing light – we used mirrors and created a periscope effect!
The children created walls of mirrors- to infinity!
Spinning colour wheel- frozen in time in the centre, blending to white at the circumference.
Thanks to our helpers who rustled-up our electrical spinning circuits with propellers for our test in jig-time!
And well done to those who tried spinning it with pencils. Very effective!
We ran out of time for a string spin!
We used this wonderful book for our art and ghostly exploration of translucency! Highly recommended!

Here’s a selection of work, some backlit and others ready to be hung at home!

Our Potion and Spellbooks, inspired by Harry Potter!
Almost a full house! Happy Hallowe’en!
