The Morrigan!

Seniors have been reading Catherine Doyle’s Stormkeeper’s Island, and made Morrigans in various forms!

Seniors used their graphite pencils to explore texture and shadow. Amazing work, and witty too!

This ancient Celtic goddess was both a danger and a blessing, and could change her shape to represent many forms, most notably the banshee-like woman and blackest raven!

We sing a song to Brigid!

We love St Brigid, our patron saint.

Every year we make crosses from local rushes and the priest blesses these for us when he calls.
The juniors made cloaks for Lá Fhéile Bríd Freisin!
Beautiful colours and patterns on display here!
The seniors made woven carnógs; we stretched these like Brigid’s cloak, bringing colour and pattern to our notice board.

We sing our song to Brigid too. Have a lovely bank holiday weekend!
